Mindfulness is simply being aware of what’s happening in and around us. This could be our thoughts, feelings and emotions. It could also be bodily sensations or our own surroundings - the sights, smells and sounds that we experience all the time. By bringing our attention to these areas we can put some space between ourselves and our reactions. With practice we can learn not to judge or get swept up in our feelings but to observe them as they arise.
